7 Intriguing H.R. Giger Documentaries and Interviews

Upon hearing that artist Hans Rudi Giger died yesterday, I wanted to revisit some interviews I'd seen, and learn more about his life and art. Here are some interesting videos I enjoyed watching today.

H.R. Giger Revealed

This 52 minute 2010 video features interviews of Giger's parents as well as the artist himself. Subtitles translate the spoken Swiss into English.

H.R. Giger Revealed, on Facebook

H.R. Giger: Art in Motion

Another documentary from 2010. IMDB describes this film as "It is the first time you will be able to see Giger's paintings processed digitally in high resolution quality, 3D animated and together with original film music and surround sound."

H.R. Giger: Alien

A 33 minute documentary on the making of "Alien." Spoken audio is in English; subtitles are in Japanese.

HR Giger

Up High Productions' 22 minute overview of Giger artwork set to music and animated a bit.

H.R. Giger Museum and Bar

A 30 minute walkthrough of the Museum and bar in Switzerland. I'm surprised they allowed this much filming to take place by these tourists. I so loved being able to peer around the museum in this video, since airline tickets to Switzerland are currently out of my reach.

Giger's Necronomicon and the Making of 'Alien'

An hour and 17 minutes of Giger paintings, video of him at work, and some Japanese subtitles.

HR Giger Interview at Gruyeres Switzerland

A JustSayGo television journalist managed to convince Giger to give this 9 minute interview.
