Dark Side of the News for August 23, 2012

The Apparition opens in theaters tomorrow. "Kelly and Ben discover they are being haunted by a presence that was accidentally conjured during a university parapsychology experiment." Hrm. Can't say I'm too excited other than that Ashley Greene is pretty to look at. Still, it's better than having no dark or horror movies opening this weekend!

I'm not very excited about the Carrie remake. But at least it has the adorable, talented Chloe Moretz in it. You can peek at Entertainment Weekly's exclusive look at the remake, which also stars Julianne Moore.

Eli Roth, director of Hostel, has been working on a "haunted hotel and casino" attraction in Las Vegas. The Goretorium will be open year-round. The two story building is imagined as a hotel called "The Delmont." Inside, there's a casino, a bar called Bloody Mary's, and even a wedding chapel where horror fanatics can choose to rent for their horrific wedding ceremony.

It's due to open September 27.

I'm looking for volunteer moderators for the Frankenweenie and "666 Park Avenue" groups at the Darklinks Social Network. Just someone who has about 15 minutes per day to post the latest news and links on those topics.
