Crossbones

John Malkovich as Blackbeard the pirate? I am so there. Is it dark? I don't really care either way. "Coming Soon" to NBC in 2014.

Flowers in the Attic

Not a TV series, this Lifetime movie is probably going to be crappy. But as a fan of the original book and film (despite their shlockiness), I'm looking forward to checking this out on January 18, 2014.

The Following

The Following returns on January 19. I love this show, to the point I get a bit crazed every week waiting for the new episode to air. It's pretty hard anymore for a TV show or movie to surprise me or gross me out anymore, and this show manages to do both in almost every episode.

Lizzie Borden Took An Ax

Another crappy Lifetime movie I'm looking forward, sadly, to viewing. It airs on January 25, 2014. At least it stars goth-princess-actress Christina Ricci.

  1. It will be a great shame if Lifetime ruins "Flowers in the Attic".

I remember reading a letter to the editor published in the Women's Institute's magazine which went something like this:
"I purchased last month's featured book 'Flowers in the Attic' because of the glowing recommendation you gave it. It was like reading pornography. I was thoroughly disgusted and struggled to complete its 380 pages."!

  2. OK, just ignore me!

I've just realised the book referred to by the disgusted WI member was not Flowers in the Attic but The Crimson Petal and the White which at 860 pages would explain why I found the reader's letter so hysterically funny!

  3. Thank you for all of these tips!
