10 More Interesting Goth Blogs

1. Bones and Lilies

Finnish blogger Karoliina blogs about makeup and beauty topics. Recent posts include a lipstain review, what she wore to check out the Dark Sunshine Summer Club, and several cool Outfit of the Day posts. I also enjoy reading about her life in Finland in posts such as Living Room Picnic and Crafty Sunday. The blogger is really pretty and knows how to dress, do her hair and makeup fabulously, so I think you'll enjoy checking this blog out. Plus it's fun to hear about beauty and clothing products in Finland that we don't see in the US.

2. 2nd Street Cemetery

Whoops, I'm not sure why I included this Halloween enthusiast in a list of goth blogs. I don't think Countess Vonrauber is a goth (that I know of). Anyway, check out her cool weekend crafting projects; the beautiful wings she's creating; a list of her current Halloween projects; and a link to a really cool electric skull violin I'd not seen before.

3. Mary's Insatiable Fable

This girl blogs about her fashion and shopping adventures, shares a fingerless gloves tutorial, sliced T-shirt tutorial, and taking a goth hike. There's also a couple posts about a bad experience she had at a Michael's because of being dressed goth.

4. The Purple Broom

This blog is written by a pagan goth artist. Lately she's sharing pics of her Witch's Cottage: My Bedroom the Bat Cave; imagining a cool Cthulhu bathroom; and sharing what it was like for her to live alone for the first time.

5. The Walrus Room

Sary's blog about goth, Lolita, and industrial. She lives in Australia. Her recent posts include a peek at her outfit; a peek at her holiday artwork; a post on 13 post-punk bands; and a showcase of a cool male goth's Youtube videos. (Unfortunately Sary decided to disable right clicks on her blog, which I think is silly because it only took me 5 seconds to find a different way to copy her logo in order to present her blog here, but it made it such a pain to link to her individual posts, I gave up). Anyway, I think you'll enjoy checking in here now and then to see what she's up to.

6. Aristocratic Elegance

"Collector of eccentric clothing, drinker of tea." This blogger writes about the sister to Gothic Lolita fashion, called Aristocrat. Besides peeks at the beautiful outfits she puts together and wears, you can read about her Japan trip this summer; a piece of art she finished lately; and some large hats she's been wearing.

7. The Gloom Generation

Hmm I prefer to think of this blog by the name from its url; but apparently the title is actually "Lavender Scented Fetuses and Two-Headed Rats." This is a deathrock music blog, with recent forays into style changes and shamanism; important people to know in deathrock; and discussing the basics of deathrock.

8. Legally Goth

"Musings from the mind of a corporate goth." Blogging from New York, she shares what she wears to the office, the occasional recipe, and shares her worries about letting possessions go to embrace the present. (I can totally relate to that, as I'm struggling with it too recently). While the posts here aren't photo heavy, you really get a sense of who this person is and the things she's putting her energy into lately. I see a lot of growth here as I read backwards on the blog. It's so hard to open up and share your life with strangers, but here she is doing it boldly, bravely and honestly. I admire that.

9. Cemetery Dreams

"Dark Arts, Crafts, Clothing and D├ęcor." This blog is written by a woman named Phoenix who is a post-grad archaeology student. Besides the usual interesting outfit posts, she writes about her uncanny childhood photo similar to Coraline; pics of her cute kittens; Goth in the Office type posts; and info on how to survive a garden party.

10. Bloody Fashionista

A Gothic Lolita fashion blog by Crimson. Check out the Moitie stained glass dress she ordered recently; the Misako Aoki tea party she attended recently; and tons of posts with her looking adorable in her Lolita dresses.

This UK-based clothing label is by Rivendell Studios. Here in their online shop, they sell beautiful fairytale, gothic and Bohemian clothing. The store offers gowns, coats and jackets, bodices and corsets, skirts and tops for ladies. For men, they sell coats and jackets, shirts and tops, waistcoats, and jeans. My absolute favorite thing here is the purple Ophelia dress.

The Headless Hearseman

A shop selling horror model kits, horror figures and horror busts you can assemble and paint yourself. My favorite here is Dracula's Daughter.

An Australian goth darkwave radio show that airs Sundays in several cities around the world. You can also listen to the show's podcasts.

Bleeding Beauty

"Everything that bleeds - Makeup and other cosmetics." A makeup review blog that I thoroughly enjoy. She posts pictures of the product swiped on her hand, as well as product pics and a photo of the finished look on her own face or lips. I also appreciate that not all of her reviews are gushingly positive like some bloggers' are. For example, she admits disappointment in this Manic Panic Green Envy lipstick.

Gothic Divine Magazine

Currently writing informative and enjoyable posts about the Toronto goth scene; the Japanese darkwave duo Aural Vampire; the band Nox Arcana; and sharing lovely photos from WGT 2012. Lots of good stuff here!

This underground event has been taking place in London for over two years now. Inspired by HBO's Fangtasia club in True Blood, this club night takes place every second Friday of the month. The "undead DJs" play goth, metal, new wave, Americana, death country, cow punk and hellbilly music.

Dark and Spooky Etsy Shops

Rag Dollies Madhouse

This shop specializes in goth and steampunk top hats and jewelry. They also sell a few Elizabethan ruffs and cuffs, feather fascinators and a few steampunk wrist cuffs.

Spiderwings Dark Whimsy

My friend Ann's shop, where she sells her artwork, cephalopod related items, curiosities, and replica resin animal skulls.

Dellamorte and Co

This shop draws inspiration from "catacombs and tombs." On offer are candlestick holders, wall plaques, wine stoppers, and jewelry. Check out the Kraken corkscrew and unusual tentacle candlestick holder.

Twisted Mind of Mine

"Jewelry for the twisted at heart." Items carried here include "Hair candy," necklaces, rings, bracelets, anklets, ear studs, compacts, pins, and sweater guards. My favorite item here is The Human Ribcage raised cameo necklace.

Niswander Ceramics

This art pottery shop sells creepy jack'o'lanterns, cute Bride of Frankenstein drinking mugs, a creepy witch face jar and other creatively odd pottery pieces.

Cemetery Cat Designs

"Designs for the curious and macabre." This shop sells unique jewelry, such as this Dark Depths necklace, as well as several styles of skull earrings.

Pinky Noodles

You have to skip over some unrelated stuff (flower cabochons, for example) here to find the nice dark things. I linked this shop mostly because of the very cool cameos, many featuring skulls, black cats, octopi, skeleton hands and such.

New Goth Links for July 18, 2012

Danni Zamudio

This dark illustrator hails from Portland, Oregon. Here you can visit her illustration portfolio, peek at her sketches, read her blog to see what she's up to lately, and find out where her work is being exhibited.

She also offers some of her work in her shop.

Bats in the Belfry, Cats in the Attic

Katie lives in Atlanta. She's a writer and paranormal investigator. Lately she's blogging about her new cool Bela Lugosi purse; participating in the Goth Challenge; showing off her cute new haircut; and sharing some amazing used bookstore CD finds.

A Dark Mind in Dark Times

"Musings and worries of an alternative Muslima." This is probably the most unique and fascinating goth blog I've ever run into. A nineteen year old self-labeled "babybat" lives at home with her Muslim parents and dreams "in shades of black." She shares her current worries, concerns and problems very openly on this blog. I can't help but care about what happens to her as she navigates that anxious passage between dependent teen and college age grown woman. Check out her "who I am" tag to learn more about her.

Sweet Nightmare Kitchen

I adore this blog so much! Mai Aimheart shares her spooky kitchen creations. Check out her Fly Batty Fly Cherry Pie, her Dracula Brownie, and Eyeball Cookies. Each post includes instructions and/or the recipe, plus a photo of the finished item and a cute comic drawing of each baked good. This blog is so fun!

The Lovecraft

A horror-themed bar in Portland, Oregon. I'm really surprised how full and busy their events calendar is. Cool!

Beryl Beloved

Post-punk with an awesome low-voiced vocalist reminiscent of P.F. Murphy.

Dead Red Velvet

Check out their Bela Lugosi's Dead cover performed live in January 2012.

Oneiroid Psychosis

"Progressive darkwave" band using lots of dark synths. They're from Wisconsin.

Oneiroid Psychosis on Facebook

This Charming Band

A popular Smiths cover band from San Francisco. I have had soo many goth friends tell me how much fun their shows are to attend.

This Australian store sells alternative clothing, shoes, accessories, housewares and gifts. The selection here is astonishingly huge.

Beserk Clothing on Facebook

Creepy Dolls.com

Bastet2329's dark dollies. Lovingly handcrafted, each spooky doll here is different.

Evil Enablers

Shocking - a LiveJournal community that's still very active! Evil Enableres is "a community to talk about various shops that specialize in "feel good" products such as perfume, bath products, makeup, toiletries, a little tea, a little chocolate." Obviously some BPAL fans are here, though BPAL has its own extremely active community too.

Madame M Presents

The author of Creepy Little Bedtime Stories shares her adorable illustrations here, offers cute curiosities in her shop, and links you to her Zazzle store.

Her M-Porium sells necklaces, her books, comic greeting cards, and her comic books. There's also a neat Zombie Youth Brigade patch.

Mystic Pieces

This Etsy shop sells steampunk "time traveling jewelry." Some of the pieces also have a Neo Victorian influence. I really enjoy how unusual and original the jewelry here is - I've looked at a lot of online steampunk jewelry shops in the last couple years, and this is refreshing to see. There are necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets like you'd expect, but also brooches, barrettes and compacts.

Kweeny Todd

A feisty Australian Sweeney Todd/horror fan blogs about horror movies, zombie walks, Halloween countdowns, grisly horror deaths, and other genre topics.

Midnite Media

"Home of the horror hipster." Currently reviewing Hostel 3; offering a really informative Horror Explorer chronology of the genre; reviewing the Zombies Vs. Strippers film that's all over my local Red Boxes; and sharing hundreds more of his horror film reviews. A lot of work goes into this blog!
