Best of the Dark Side: 13 Creepiest Occult Sites

My interest in the occult was minimal, but back in the early 1990s when I first started Dark Side of the Net, there weren't a lot of places to find occult sites. So I included such things in my database and websites, just to be complete. Interestingly about 99% of the links on my page have died, and they don't appear to be replaceable via Google or Bing searches. Is interest in the occult waning? at least online?

Following are what's probably to be the last occult sites ever featured on Dark Side of the Net.

1. The Alchemy Website

Over 150 megs of texts and articles on the subject of alchemy.

2. Etruscan Divination

Interesting historical perspective on this obscure subject.

3. Holy Order of RaHoorKhuit

Fans of Aleister Crowley.

4. The 93 Current

A resource on Thelema. Based in Germany, but in English.

5. Occult World Ledger

Occult articles and reviews. Amazingly still in operation!

6. The Temple of Set

The official webpage for the left-hand-path organization.

7. Twilit Grotto

Ancient texts, including Dr. John Dee's "Five Books of Mystery" and "The art of drawing spirits into crystals."

8. The Libri of Aleister Crowley

Texts and writings, many in PDF form, by Crowley.

9. O.T.O.Org

The Ordo Templi Orientis news page.

10. Thelema.Org

The College of Thelema and Temple of Thelema.

11. Universal Gnostic Church

The wiki page for the church.

12. The Order of Thelemic Knights

Both a Gnostic and Thelemic organization. (Your homework is to find out how to pronounce "Thelema" correctly).

13. The US Grand Lodge, O.T.O.

"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law."

  1. Interesting that there are fewer occult websites online. I wonder if that has anything to do with the commercialization of the internet? Or perhaps it is the massive religious resurgence that seems to be taking place in world culture? In any event, I'm sure there will come a time when the occult makes a strong resurgence (just as vampires have in recent years).

  2. I know of another site but it focuses more on all magic forms & practices rather than just the occult. You might be right though. Site that are solely occult based are hard to come by.
