  • Abracadaver's Guide to Goth/Glam/New Wave Makeup - A very detailed, well done page on makeup. Tips for foundation, eyes, glitter, and where to find supplies. It hasn't been updated in ages, but still has good info.

  • Academia Gothica - The Ice Princess's overview of goth culture, including What is Goth, myths about goths, goth style, and a brief history of goth. No longer updated, but still useful.

  • Alt.Gothic Booklist - Recommended reading from alt.gothic readers. Check out book recommendations in fantasy, science fiction, horror, non-fiction, and general categories. No new books have been added in many years though, it seems.

  • Alt.Gothic FAQ - This FAQ, the original, created long ago by Peter Wake, has not been updated since 1995. It's still of interest in a historical sense. And it still provides great info on what the goth movement is.

  • Alt.Gothic.Fashion FAQ - Also not updated since 1995. A very interesting read, with a.g.f. survival tips, history of the newsgroup, info on historic style clothing, where to buy goth clothing, info on corsetse, jewelry, makeup and accessories.

  • Alt.Gothic FAQ - This contains info both about goth in general, and the newsgroup. A resources list is here as well. Updated in 2000.

  • Alt.Gothic Quotes Page - Memorable quotes from postings to alt.gothic throughout the years. Quotes are separated into topic areas, such as beautiful quotes, flames, and love/relationships quotes. Worth a look - a lot of this stuff is hysterical! Not updated since 1998.

  • Alt.Gothic, at LiveJournal - Mostly Convergence announcements and the occasional news and club adverts.

  • Alt.Gothic Syndicated LiveJournal - An easy way to read recent Alt.Gothic postings while browsing Livejournal.

  • Alt.Gothic.Fashion, at LiveJournal - Mostly "items for sale" spam type posts, but at least they're on topic.

  • Ancient Goth, at LiveJournal - Eldergoths use this community, but not frequently.

  • Antimony and Lace - Another great site by Victoria Gwaed. This gothic fashion site offers well thought out gothic fashion tips, ideas on gothic style, and discusses various types of gothic looks. There are also some home decor projects, and a links collection. Updated in 2007, last I looked.

  • Asylum of Mercy - A Christian outreach program for the goth community. I'm not very excited to link to this when they are asking for donations on the site, but in case this is useful, here you go. Surprised there aren't any discussion forums here.

  • Batmobiles: Goths on Wheels, at LiveJournal - A community for goths who use wheelchairs.

  • Bibliogoth, at LiveJournal - The Gothic reading group.

  • Black Waterfall: Goth Stereotypes - A fun site to look at real quickly. Each goth stereotype is illustrated with an adorably cute avatar. Types covered include the steampunk goth, Victorian goth, mopey goth, geek goth, baby bat goth, corp goth, and Medieval goth. Updated in 2008 with Steampunk Goth.

  • A Brief History of Convergence - The history of Convergence from C1 in Chicago to C14 in Ybor, Florida.

  • A Brief History of Goth - Info on goth music, the movement, bands, fashion, punk, and new romantics. It mostly covers 1979 to 1984. Someone cared about this enough to grab such a cool domain name!

  • Christian Goth.com - Serving the Christian goth community for many years. over A FAQ, an article on proper Christian goth attire, links, commentaries, scriptures, and a prayer.

  • Christian Goth, at LiveJournal - A community for Christian goths.

  • Corporate Goth - Another great site by DarkWyccan. This page helps corporate goths survive. Corporate goths strive to retain both their jobs, and their identities/fashion sensibilities. Fashion tips, networking, and a discussion area complement the survival hints. There's a private events list for members to peruse. The "professions" page adds tips on surviving as a corpgoth in various industries. This is a busy, active community, well worth checking out.

  • Crafty Goths, at LiveJournal - Goths who make cool stuff.

  • Dark Wyccan's Guide to Gothic Nail Care - A well written page with a ton of info on nail hygiene, design, maintenance, and practical advice on sex with long nails, erotica, and emergency repairs.

  • Encyclopedia Gothica - Recommended! An excellent site chronicling important resources of the goth scene - bands, people, events, terminology and resources are explored with meticulous attention to detail. This was an ambitious project but hasn't been updated since 2006.

  • Find Your Morbid Name - Morbid Outlook's goth name generator.

  • Gawth Pallor - How to attain that lovely shade (or lack thereof) of skin.

  • Get Your Goth Name - You never need to know when you need to generate a goth online nick to use.

  • Goth Cocktails - Snakebites, Red Witch, Black Velvet, Bloodbath and other cocktails Goths might like, even if just for the cool names.

  • Goth in One Minute - A video on the history of goth. Actually pretty accurate!

  • Goth Name Generator - Generates different names for males and females.

  • Gothic Intelligence Test - Just a wee bit of humor.

  • Gothology - A LiveJournal community for serious study of goth history and lifestyle. Off to a good start.

  • The Goth Workout - Ideas for a goth workout. Pushups, crunches, leg lifts and more.

  • Goth Band Name Generator - In case you need help coming up with a catchy, morbid name.

  • Gothic Blend - A site with goth forums, a gallery, blog entries, and a store.

  • Gothic Charm School - The Lady of the Manners presents etiquette lessons and an advice column. A great place to learn about the goth subculture through her advice. She even has a Cafe Press store now. I must point out that The Lady of the Manners won one of Dark Side of the Net's contests one time, and she promptly (within 2 days) sent a handwritten thank-you note for her goodie box upon receipt. Very mannerly indeed.

  • Gothic Gardening - A reprint of Malice's original historic essay on the topic of goth gardening.

  • Gothic Gardening: The Witches' Garden - Another archive of Malice's ideas for goth herbs and plants.

  • Gothic Martha Stewart - Trystan's legendary site about goth homekeeping, decor, and goth shopping tips. Motifs, projects, and resources, all well thought out.

  • Gothic Text Files Database - The famous collection maintained by Vamp Lestat. Read various helpful FAQs; see back issues of zines like Take A Bite and Prayers to a Broken Stone; check out interviews with Christian Death and Sisters of Mercy; read Dracula online, and some music reviews. It's great that Vamp has archived these things here, since early netgoth files are disappearing rapidly off the Net.

  • Grow Your Own Horns - A nifty how-to crafty type page.

  • If Goths Ruled - The contest is over, but you can still see the entries. This really is hysterical. The contestants were asked to photoshop something to depict what a goth day care center, goth grocery store, goth doctor's office, etc. would look like if goths ruled the world.

  • The I'm So Goth List - Scroll down for some light goth humor.

  • My Goth Name - Another goth name generator. I'm "Sombre Death." Perfect!

  • Name Nerds Goth Names - Everything from Absinthe to Zothecula.

  • Name That Goth: Gothic Baby Names - Great ideas for names for gothic babies. Or maybe even pets! Not updated since 2000.

  • 10 Little Gothlings - A humorous poem.

  • 175 Types of Goths - From punkgoth to transgoth. If you feel the need to label yourself, here's a good starting point.

  • Pale Skin - A LiveJournal community for pale skincare tips, suntan avoidance, and admiration of deathly pallor skin tones.

  • Sunlight and Shadow: Understanding the Gothic Subculture - A look at myths about goth, goth being thought of as synonymous with evil, and a suggested solution. Also a history of goth. Lots of affiliate ads make it sort of unpleasant to browse the otherwise well done site.

  • 'Twas the Night Before Gothmas - A nice little dreary poem for the holidays.

  • UK Goth Mini-FAQ - Frequently asked questions about the goth subculture in the United Kingdom. Updated in 2008!

  • Vlad's Alt.Gothic Archive - Text files including Make Cloves Fast, FAQs, History of Goth, the Absinthe FAQ, the Gothic Joke List, the Perkygoff FAQ, and the A to Z of Goth.
