I'm an eldergoth - my how the years are flying by! I'm an Internet researcher and probably should have been a librarian, but chose a major in Social Work instead. I'm an aunt to a cute niece and three nephews, an avid reader, a movie lover, and frequent traveler. I live near Seattle with my husband and two cats (Jack and Tyler, named after Fight Club characters). One thing I do every day is sit down and write at least one paper letter to send to a friend or relative. I have a horrible addiction to stationery, and this habit not only lets me stay in contact with people I care about, but it also uses up some of my scandalous overstock of pretty paper and cards! I've been working with computers for over twenty years. My first computer was a TRS-80 color computer, when I was twelve. I remember when we upgraded the memory from 2k to 4k, that was a really big deal for me at the time, laugh! When I was a teenager I joined a text file writing group. I wrote horribly bad, poorly written violent stories. They were published around the various pre-Internet BBS networks, and unfortunately lots of people read them. Later, the t-file group became known as hacker group Cult of the Dead Cow, so although I am not a hacker I am the only female member of an internationally notorious hacker group. Makes me not want to say anything private over the telephone if you know what I mean. Despite the rumors, I am not a Satanist, nor am I suicidally depressed. Nor do I dress in all black 100% of the time, and sit in a dark house all day. I know I will lose some goth points for saying this, laugh, but I actually do quite enjoy the sun! I have a garden and unfortunately have a large lawn to mow in the summertime. My hobbies are learning to bake, make artisanal chocolates, and throwing weekly dinner parties. Resume Stuff: I have a Bachelor's degree from San Diego State University in Social Work, with a minor in Psychology. For some reason whenever I am engaged in an argument with some thief who has stolen my work, they really get bothered by, and mention, my minor in psychology.. for some reason it seems to grate on them. But trust me, having a minor in psych doesn't help you understand the inner workings of the mind of a plagiarist and thief. Previously I have worked as a nanny, a Child Protective Services social worker, and I owned my own ISP for four long, dark, lonely years. Currently I work as an Internet researcher, and I make some pocket money on the side on Ebay. I don't get enough sleep, and rely heavily upon caffeine (Tea, Earl Grey, hot) to make it through the night. In the summertime I depend on Ronald's powdered tea, iced. Snapple is totally delicious, but I consider it an expensive extravagance only for special occasions. If I am celebrating or hanging out with friends, I like a Mojito or some yummy Captain Morgan Pirate Rum, in 7-up with a lemon (drool!). |
